The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has presented the bill for a law to create Bauchi State Roads and Traffic Agency, and other matters connected to thereto 2020 passed recently to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed foe assent.
Presenting the bill to the Governor, Rt. Honourable Abubakar Y Suleiman explained that the bill will provide employment opportunities to teeming youth, control traffic, inculcate discipline on traffic rules by road users and it is expected to significantly improve the State’s internally generated revenue.
The Speaker on behalf of the members of the State House of Assembly reassured Governor Bala Mohammed of their renewed support and mutual cooperation for the development of the State and for the benefit of the citizens.
“Your Excellency Sir, we are here today again to present you another bill as passed by the Assembly for your assent. The bill which is provide for the regulation and control and management of traffic in the state is the sixteenth bill since our assumption into office, this bill is important like other bills that you have assented.”
Receiving the bill, Governor Bala Mohammed said the bill is a tool for sanitizing towns and villages of the state.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the bill will also provide employment opportunities to teaming youth as well as deepening responsibility and responsiveness.
“It is indeed a pleasure today to assent to the sixteenth bill enacted by the Bauchi State House of Assembly. I don’t think there is any Assembly that has done this fit and of course despite all the differences mentioned by the Honourable Speaker we are connected by the people of Bauchi state and Nigeria.”
“The synergy is working, the democracy is working in Bauchi and definitely we are going to suprise everyone by making sure we leave legacies and landmark in terms of doing things for the betterment of our people.” He said.
