Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Tuesday evening, joined fellows of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) for a Dinner and Awards Presentation which culminated in the Investiture of the 8th Chairman, Lokoja and District Society.
He was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja at the exquisite event which held at the State Government House as part of activities scheduled to host the 57th President of ICAN, Mrs. Comfort Eyitayo who is on a 3-day working visit to the State.
Recall that Governor Bello became a chartered fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria in 2004 with ANAN being a sister accountancy association to ICAN, both with regulatory authorities in Nigeria.
Remarking, Chief Onoja stated that ICAN is living by its mission statement envisioned to producing world-class Chartered Accountants, whilst regulating and continually enhancing their ethical standards and technical competence in the public interest.
He said through its interest in ethical standards, he trusts ANAN in its shared professional ideals as ICAN, must have played remarkable roles in inculcating core standards in Governor Yahaya Bello which is practically seen today in every area of his administration, in his unfettered quest for accountability and integrity in getting things done.
Whilst appreciating the Institute for the Award given him, he congratulated the new Chairman, Lokoja, and District Society, Mr. Adedeji Kareem, ACA, charging him to exert his Leadership with erudition and the fear of God.
