JOS NORTH COUNCIL BOSS URGES CITIZENS TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENT QUEST TO REBUILD JOS MAIN MARKET.
The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council , Shehu Bala Usman has appealed to citizens to support the Plateau State government desire to rebuild the Jos Main Market.
The Chairman who stated this in a statement in Jos , noted that rebuilding the main market in collaboration with Jaiz Bank will boost the revenue base of the state and create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.
Usman explained that what is required of citizens at this point in time is their unflinching support to enable government complete the project and not criticisms.
He Stated opposing the take off of the project will not do the state any good.
The chairman noted with regret the action of some people who use the social and conventional media to criticize government’s well conceived intentions in reviving the Main Market.
The chairman noted the patriotic zeal of Governor Simon Lalong and encourage citizens to seek clear understanding of the MOU rather than relying on misinformation and rumours from those who may not have clear knowledge of such economic decisions.
He appealed to the people not to be distracted by the handiwork of those opposing the project.
The chairman said Governor Simon Lalong has done well to deserve the trust of the people noting that has propelled him to a national team player.
The Jos North Council Chairman acknowledge that in a democracy, people are free to ventilate their opinion, called on citizens to be weary of some who are bent on causing disaffection with their campaigns of calumny to rubbish government efforts in ensuring the Jos Main Market is rebuilt.
While appealing for cooperation and understanding of the populace, the Chairman applauded efforts of the State government in engaging key stakeholders on the subject matter.
The Chairman noted that the Council is open to receiving suggestions, submission and ideas to proffer an amicable way forward and forward same to the state Government for prompt action.
