Kabba, Okehi Holds Bilateral Security Meeting

Bilateral Security Meeting Held To Address The Recent Kidnappings Along Ohuepe-Kabba Road.

A top notch Security delegation under the direction of the Security Conscious Executive Chairman of Okehi Local Government, Hon Abdulraheem Ohiare Ozovehe met their Kabba Counterparts yesterday at the border town of Ohuepe to proffer lasting solution to the kidnapping menace affecting the ever busy Kabba road.

The meeting which recorded the presence of the Okehi LG DSO, SA on Security Matters, Supervisory Councillor of Budget & Planning, Professional Hunters top brass and Leader of Okehi Local Hunters who doubles as the Hunters Chief in Kogi Central. On the part of the Kabba delegation were the DSO, SA on Security Matters, Kabba DSS Officer, Head of Kabba Hunters and CSO of Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba.


Members of the Drivers’ Union from Kabba, Okehi and Adavi Branches were represented by their Leaders.

During the meeting, flash points along the route were identified, various suggestions came on board and recommendations were made to ensure safety of motorists on the busy Kabba road.

Among the resolutions reached at the meeting were: the deployment of Professional/Local Hunters by the neighbouring Local Governments despite the fact that the flash points were located in Kabba side of the route, clearing the road sides for a clearer and distant view, appealing to government to repair the spoiled portions on the road and as well urging the Drivers’ Union Members and other inhabitants to give useful and prompt information to the Security Agencies.

Finally, the Drivers’ Union Officials promised to play their roles in ensuring that the route is safe and secured for motorists.
