PHARM. ABDULKAREEM ASUKU YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION MQIN OBJECTIVES IS TO STRENGTHEN PEACE AND UNITY OF THE SOCIETY

The Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation, a not-for-profit, Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that is dedicated to the economic empowerment of youths, orphans, widows and other vulnerable groups in the society, through skills acquisition training, job creation, and micro-financing in order to outgrow poverty, wishes to announce to the general public it’s annual empowerment program with the theme; “Prayer for Peace, Unity and Stability/Widows Empowerment”. This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 2nd January , 2021 at the Ebira Day Ground, Okene, Kogi State.

The main objective of this program is to strengthen the unity and stability of our society, which has been made fragile by many years of socioeconomic dislocation of our youth, widows and orphans with the ultimate goal of achieving sustainable peace, unity and social cohesion in Ebiraland. As government alone cannot undertake the onerous task of societal re-engineering, the PHARM ABDULKAREEM ASUKU YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION (PAAYEF) has taken up the task of complimenting the efforts of government by embarking on a comprehensive economic empowerment programe for youths, widows and orphans in the society .

This year’s event is specially targeted at the widows, orphans and other family members of the victims of the 2007-2009 sociopolitical crisis in Ebiraland. In order to bring a closure to the unfortunate events of the past and bring lasting peace and stability to Ebiraland, the PHARM ABDULKAREEM ASUKU YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION (PAAYEF) have decided to empower these categories of people in furtherance of its goal of achieving a socially inclusive and self-sufficient economically empowered society that leaves no one behind as a panacea for sustainable peace and stability of Ebiraland.

• The program is scheduled to kickstart in the morning of January 2nd, 2021 with a “March for Peace” that will see over 1000 youths taking a tour of Ebiraland with a public enlightenment campaign on the importance of peaceful coexistence of the people irrespective of political or religious differences.

• During the tour, the peace procession will make stop over solidarity visits to some of the widows, orphans and families of the victims of the 2007-2009 political crisis

• The role of religious leaders in this important peace project cannot be over emphasized. To this end, Christian and Muslim faithful will converge in their respective places of worship to pray for the lasting peace and stability of Ebiraland, with the Ag Chief Imam presiding over the Muslim prayer session at the Ebira Central Mosque.

• The main event will commence at the end of the “March for Peace” Tour and prayer sessions, with the convergence of the general public including the beneficiaries of this year’s empowerment programe at the Ebira Day Ground. The event will be graced by Traditional, religious and political leaders as well the generality of the good people of Ebiraland

• The High Point of this event will be the economic empowerment of about 100 widows among whom are victims of the 2007-2009 political crisis in Ebiraland.
