The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Professor A.D. Yussuf has joined the league of other well -wishers, congratulating Professor Baba Awoye Issa, as the pioneer Medical Director of the newly established Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Budo Egba, in Asa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara State.
Professor Yussuf, a renowned Behavioural Scientist described Issa’s appointment as “a right decision taken at the right time”, in a statement on his behalf by the Head, Corporate Affairs Unit (CAU) of the UITH, Mrs E.O. Ajiboye.
The CMD said, Issa, a brilliant and dedicated academic behavioural expert at the Department of Behavioural Sciences of the UITH would use his wealth of experience to give the hospital the required foundational landmarks.
The UITH boss expressed his optimism in the ability of Issa to succeed on his new endeavour and promised to assist with the available facilities at the teaching Hospital for the success of the pioneer Medical Director.
The CMD therefore thanked His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari for the expeditious approval of the establishment of the hospital as well as the appointment of Professor Issa Baba as the Medical Director and the Chief of Staff to the President-Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari.
He also expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRazak, for providing existing structure for the take-off of the hospital.
Similarly, he expressed his appreciation to the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunmibe Mamora for his assistance and cooperation towards the fruition of this epic project as well as the distinguished Senator representing Kwara Central, Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe for this heroic achievement.
Besides, the CMD sought the cooperation of all the seconded staff for a successful take-off and functioning of the new facility.
