As part of efforts to address the security menace in the country, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area who doubles as the ALGON Chairman in Kogi State, Hon. Taufiq Isah has warned cultists and other groups who may be causing social and security menace in the area to relocate or meet their waterloo shortly.
The Council boss disclosed during his chieftaincy installation as the Olukewade of Ogale-Idi-Oro community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, North central Nigeria.
He said in line with the directive of the most conscious security Governor in Nigeria, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, there will be no hiding place for all criminal elements in the area, stressing that any one apprehended as a cult member will be prosecuted according to the law of the land.
According to him, the security agencies in the area are more vigilant than before to fish out all criminals no matter how highly placed the individuals might be, pointing out that the administration will stop at nothing to maintain the current status of the most peaceful state in Nigeria.
He said as part of the measures to curb insecurity all shop owners within the area will henceforth be closing by 10pm as this will help to monitor those criminal elements in the area.
He called on the people to continue to give their maximum cooperation and support to the new direction administration which has transformed the state to an enviable heights as seen in the ongoing construction of Ekinrin-Adde – Osun – Ife-Olukotun, the overhead bridge in Lokoja metropolis, Kabba township roads and other projects ongoing in the state.
He urged Nigerians especially the youths to support the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello as that will right the wrongs of the past and reposition the country for great exploits for the benefits of all.
Alhaji Taufiq commended the council of chiefs of the community for considering it right to bestow the chieftaincy titles on him and the General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency which is in appreciation of the agency’s action of constructing the community town hall and cottage hospital.
He noted that it is not only the Ogale-Idi-Oro community that benefited from the agency’s projects but decided as part of their appreciation to honor them, promising to facilitate more laudable projects to the community.
Earlier, the traditional ruler of the community, Shaba of Ogale, Oba AbdulRahaman Ibinola thanked and appreciated the council boss for his visionary leadership to consider their community for the projects that have since been completed and put to use promised to make judicious use of the projects.
He said the Chairman and the agency has made them to feel their own dividend of democracy, noting that since the existence of the community, this will be the first time a government at any level will consider them for such projects, praying that it shall continue to guide and protect them.
Mallam Momoh Dauda, the General Manager, Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, Mallam was also installed as the Atuluse of Ogale-Idi-Oro community.
Other dignitaries at the occasion included Ijumu LGA Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Otitolaiye Rachael, the Ologale of Ogale, HRH, Oba Otitoju Kolajo, Council Leader, Ijumu Legislative Council, Hon. Omosagba Olayinka Hon. Femi Esemekose, SSA to Governor, Barr. Lewis Asubiojo, former SA to the Governor etc.
