TOWARDS A GREATER KOGI STATE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

The honorable commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Barr. S.M Ozigi Deedat and his colleagues, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Haruna and the Kogi State Auditor general for Local, Alhaji Usman Ododo today played host to local government health workers union leaders, delegates from the Kogi State health care development agancy, world health organization and Unicef.

The agenda of the meeting which is basically about settings the records straight in check with obvious treasury facts and figures, the constitutional modalities behind its expenditures and the journey so far were satisfactorily treated and all begging questions from the union leaders answered. An agreeable point of compromise to be reached soonest.

The Spokesperson of the Kogi State Primary health care development agency who spoke on the importance of the public health care under one roof policy (PHCUOR) while entreating for the commencement of the policy, expressed confidence that the policy will checkmate the authenticity and proficiency of the public health workers once it is implemented.

In other to tackle an immediate need for the commencement of supplemental immunisation activities (SIA) and special attention for the arising alarm of yellow fever outbreak in some parts of our neighboring states, the labour union, delegates of world health partners an the government representatives reached an agreement to hit the ground running while means for further deliberation on other issue of concerns are put in place.
