— Arigo, Ex‑Militants Chair Pledges Loyalty to MORE Agenda

Asaba, 7 August 2025

In a landmark gesture signaling a deepening of political and communal solidarity, Hon. Onoriode Agofure, Delta State Commissioner of Transport, today hosted Chief Ese Arigo, the National Chairman of Urhobo Ex‑Militants and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security , alongside key executive members, during their solidarity /official courtesy visit to him at Asaba.

The cordial event, marked by warm reception and frank dialogue, set the tone for what promises to be burgeoning collaboration between the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Urhobo ex-militant stakeholders.

Hon Chief Ese Chief Arigo, Chairman Urhobo Ex-Millitants Forum opened the meeting by lauding the Commissioner’s transformative leadership, specifically honoring his vision and his approach in rebranding Delta State’s transport infrastructure.

Arigo emphasized that, the Commissioner was not merely a recipient of plaudits but an active partner of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.. Chief Arigo maintained in his commendations that Hon Onoriode Agofure deserves accolades for his achievements in the past, and also for the present achievements anchored on shared aspiration for inclusive growth and accelerated development.

In an earnest appeal, Chief Arigo urged the Commissioner’s office to integrate Urhobo Ex-Millitants into upcoming empowerment programs, proposing that the group be woven into broader developmental frameworks.

While pledging total support for the MORE AGENDA of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Arigo stressed that Hon Onoriode Agofure is the best transport Commissioner the state have ever produced .

Responding with resolve, Commissioner Agofure assured Chief Arigo and his delegation of the government’s willingness to facilitate Ex-Millitants inclusion in state-sponsored initiatives aimed at enhancing livelihoods and offering economic opportunities. He further emphasized that true progress cannot flourish amidst conflict, urging the Ex-Millitants to forsake violence and embrace peace as pillars of personal and communal development.

The Delta Transport Commissioner encouraged Chief Arigo and the Urhobo Ex-Millitants Forum to lend their support to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s second‑term aspirations. Describing them as champions of vision, stability, and community advancement.

This visit signaled a deepening of partnership between Urhobo Ex-Millitants and the Delta State Government as
Chief Arigo reiterated his willingness to stand behind the MORE Agenda.
