Ughievwen Monarch Commends Tinubu for Approval of New 10,000 bpd Refinery in Imode

By Sunday Apah

His Royal Majesty, Dr. Matthew Ediri Egbi, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of a new refinery in Imode town, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

This ambitious project, which will have a capacity of 10,000 barrels per day, is anticipated to significantly enhance the kingdom’s economic development and create job opportunities for the local population.

In a statement released following the announcement, the monarch underscored the importance of the refinery for the local economy, emphasizing that it would provide various benefits, including job creation and the stimulation of related industries.

He recognized that this development reflects a commitment to driving economic growth in Delta State, which has a rich history in oil production.

The monarch also took the opportunity to commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his efforts in maintaining peace throughout Delta State—an essential factor that has enabled such major development to take place.

He acknowledged that stability in the state creates an environment conducive to investment, which is vital for enhancing the quality of life for the residents.

The Ughievwen monarch expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders involved in facilitating the refinery’s establishment, thanking them for their hard work and dedication.

He pointed out that collaboration among government officials, community leaders, and private investors is critical to realizing development goals that benefit local communities.

According to him, “The news of the refinery’s establishment was greeted with enthusiasm among my subjects, particularly the residents of Imode.

“Many of them see the refinery as a catalyst for growth, with hopes that it will attract further investments and improve infrastructure in the area, such as roads, schools, and healthcare facilities.”

The monarch reiterated his support for continued investments in Ughievwen Kingdom and called on the government to ensure that the community reaps the benefits of the new refinery.

He maintained that, with determination and collaboration, Ughievwen Kingdom can achieve even greater heights in the pursuit of sustainable development and economic prosperity.
