₦9B Secured. Contractors on site. Results delivered. Senator Sunday Karimi is redefining representation in Kogi West.

The landscape of Kogi West is undergoing a rapid transformation as Senator Sunday Karimi delivers a masterclass in legislative advocacy, securing billions in funding for critical road infrastructure while effectively silencing critics through tangible results.

The Senator recently confirmed that CGC, the contractor tasked with the rehabilitation of the vital Iluhagba–Mopa–Isanlu–Egbe federal road, has been fully mobilized and is currently making significant progress along the Isanlu–Ejiba axis.

This development is not a stroke of luck but the result of aggressive fiscal maneuvering by Karimi. The Senator successfully secured N3 billion in the 2025 budget specifically for this corridor. Further demonstrating his influence in the hallowed chambers, he brokered high-level discussions with the Ministry of Works to unlock an additional N6 billion, bringing the immediate intervention fund to a staggering N9 billion.

“I am confident that this road will improve the lives and security of our people,” Senator Karimi stated, attributing the success to the synergy between his office and the executive branch. He extended profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Honorable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for their commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

While the Senator remains focused on infrastructure, a segment of political detractors has attempted to cloud his achievements with distractions. However, political analysts in the region note that these “naysayers” are finding it increasingly difficult to gain traction as the sound of construction machinery provides a loud rebuttal to their rhetoric.

For the residents of Kogi West, the restoration of the Iluhagba–Egbe road is more than a transport project; it is a lifeline for commerce, a boost for regional security, and a testament to quality representation.

As the impact of Senator Karimi’s first term becomes undeniable, the conversation across the senatorial district has shifted decisively toward the future. Community leaders and stakeholders are increasingly vocal that a second term for Senator Sunday Karimi is sacrosanct.

The argument for continuity is rooted in the “facilitation power” Karimi has displayed. With several multi-year projects now in the pipeline, the majority of the constituents argue that Kogi West cannot afford a change in leadership that might reset the clock. A second term would ensure that the bridge between Kogi West and the federal government remains robust, guaranteeing that more “democracy dividends” are delivered to the grassroots.

As work continues on the Isanlu–Ejiba axis, the message from the constituents is becoming clear: performance is the only currency that matters in Kogi West, and Senator Karimi is currently the district’s most valuable asset.
