20 Suspects in Mangun Attack Remanded in Custodial Centre

By Azi Peter – Jos

Justice Bonice Ngyou of the Plateau State High Court has remanded 20 suspects in connection with the June 20th, 2025, attack on travelers from Zaria Local Government of Kaduna State.

The victims were reportedly en route to Quan’pan Local Government for a wedding when the incident occurred.

The suspects were arraigned on four-count charges and pleaded not guilty to all offenses, which are capital in nature.

After taking their pleas, the court adjourned the matter to October 13, 2025, for a conference management hearing.

Counsel to the defendants, Chief Garba Pwul SAN, noted that the case is complex and bail for capital offenses is typically not granted unless special circumstances are presented.

The issue of bail will be considered later in the proceedings.

The court has remanded the suspects in the Jos Custodial Centre pending the next hearing.
