2023:Ex Lawmaker raises alarm over threat to his life for supporting APC Guber Candidate in Kogi

A former lawmaker representing Igalamela Odolu State Constituency Hon. Friday Sani Makama has cried out over alleged threat to his life for supporting the Candidate of All Progressive Congress, (APC) candidate ahead of November 11 Kogi Kogi Governorship election.

 

Makama, in a statement issued to journalists on Thursday said since he pledged his loyalty for the APC Governorship Candidate in Kogi State, he has been receiving series of threat from some aggrieved aspirants from the Eastern part of Kogi State.

The two time lawmaker who said he was deeply sad with the recent development called on the law enforcement agencies to ensure that those behind this act is arrested and prosecuted.

Makama, who also shared a recorded audio version of the alleged call threat to his personal assistant and pictures of the alleged sent killer vowed that nothing will stop him from supporting the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.

The statement reads in part “Democracy is simply a theory which simply suggest right to Choice on who to represent you or govern you but reverse is the case in Kogi State as enemies of the state has turned this right to killing of any Body who is perceived to be against them.

“Ever since the primaries of the APC Kogi State which His Excellency Usman Ododo emerged, those opposed to the Government of Alh. Yahaya Bello has shifted their anger on me for supporting Alhaji Usman Ododo.

“Last week, a lawyer to one of the contestants wrote a petition against me to the inspector General of Police and without waiting for the approval of the petition, the new dimension become this threats to my life.

” A clear listening to the voice record of the threats shows that I have been contracted to be killed and I reasonably believed that this threats is not far from my petitioners because even the name of the client that petitioned me was mentioned by the so called Killer contractor identified in his voice record.

“They have continued to believe that I am the only problem to them from the Eastern part of Kogi State and must go down at all cost. I have since gotten the recorded voice and the picture of the deadly dressed IPOB members who issued the same threat with his recorded voice on how he will carry out this deadly mission.

” This press statement has become imperative in order to inform the public about the demonic plans against me while I urge Security agencies to take proactive action to prevent the ugly plan”.

 

It was earlier reported that, Elder Friday Sani Makama had pledged his loyalty to the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC ), stating that, his people, (Kogi East) are not ready to take over leadership in Kogi State.
