2027: Fobur B-West Stands Firmly Behind Governor Mutfwang, Ajang Destiny Ajik
By Peter Azi – Jos
The Integrity Group in Fobur B-West, Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Sunday, declared its support for the re-election of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the election of Hon. Ajang Destiny Ajik as a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly in 2027.
The group expressed its readiness to mobilise support for the two candidates in recognition of Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and the construction of roads across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State, noting that Fobur B-West and Jos East Local Government Area are among the beneficiaries of the projects.
Operating under the Rainbow Coalition, the group endorsed Governor Caleb Mutfwang as its preferred candidate for the governorship and Hon. Ajang Destiny Ajik as its preferred candidate for the House of Assembly.
Ajang Destiny Ajik, a candidate of the Young People’s Party (YPP), was described as a promising, humble and respected personality with the capacity to represent the people effectively.
According to the group, zoning has remained an important tradition in Jos East, one it considers sacrosanct for promoting unity, fairness and equitable political representation, as well as attracting development to the area. It described Ajang Destiny as a credible candidate capable of sustaining the legacy of equity and fairness.
The group vowed to extend its mobilisation efforts beyond Fobur B-West Ward to secure massive votes for Governor Mutfwang and the House of Assembly hopeful in the 2027 elections.
The gathering attracted veteran politicians, youths and women from within and outside the ward, all of whom expressed solidarity with the candidates.
In his remarks, Ajang Destiny Ajik assured the group of his loyalty, commitment and dedication, promising to work closely with the people if elected.
“As your faithful, dedicated and committed servant, I will continue to work closely with you. If God grants us victory at the polls, I will operate an open-door policy and remain accessible to the people.
“With your support, we shall get there by the grace of God. The responsibilities of a legislator include lawmaking, lobbying and oversight. I will leave no stone unturned in discharging these duties effectively.
“I will initiate and sponsor bills and motions that will stand the test of time. I do not want to be a legislator in name only, without a single bill to my credit,” he said.
Ajik also urged his supporters to remain calm, focused and committed to issue-based campaigns, warning against rancour and unnecessary political disputes.
The event later turned into a carnival-like celebration as enthusiastic supporters brought out drums and displayed their dancing skills to express their joy and solidarity.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as participants sang solidarity songs in support of Governor Mutfwang and Ajang Destiny Ajik, while offering prayers, blessings and goodwill messages for their success in the 2027 elections.
