64th Independence Anniversary: KOSU VC Congratulates Nigerians, Urges Students to Be Change Agents

Marking the 64th Independence anniversary of the country, the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba has urged Nigerians, beginning from the campus of the university, to be thankful to God for the journey so far. In a release signed by the spokesman of the university, Tade Oshaloto and made available to newsmen in Kabba, the professor of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology noted that a life of quality service and sacrifice remained the means by which citizens’ aspirations could be achieved. He urged students and staff to reflect on the kind of nation they wish to see and how they could be part of the process rather than mere onlookers.

Professor Eniola while paying tribute to past leaders who successfully fought for independence from colonialism insisted that the nation must now look inwards with the aim of unlocking the potentials trapped not only beneath its soil but the one between the ears of each citizen.

He noted that the Kogi State University Kabba has taken it upon herself as an institution to be a community where students would be trained as solution providers who would become globally competitive, nationally recognized and locally relevant. He thanked the government of Kogi State led by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who, according to him, has allowed the essence of independence to find expression in the university.
