65th Independence Day; RECEF Nigeria urges CSOs, Citizens to promote Accountability, Transparency in Public Affairs-

The Executive Director, (ED), Renaissance Care and Empowerment Foundation, (RECEF Nigeria) Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, has called on Civil Society Organizations to renew their vows to promote accountability and transparency in all public affairs.

In his message to the Civil Space to comemorate Nigeria 65th independence day, Ambassador Idris equally enjoined the CSOs to advocate for policies that will deliver tangible improvements in healthcare delivery, qualitative education, security of lives and property and as well the provision of critical infrastructures.

According to him, they must also engage with empathy, humility, and respect for one another’s diverse experiences, and as well build partnerships across sectors to drive practical and measurable outcomes.

The Statement in full

Dear fellow citizens, Kogites, friends, and colleagues in the pursuit of a better nation and improved service delivery,

Today, we commemorate our collective resilience, courage, and unwavering commitment to a Nigeria that works for all. Independent Day is a reminder that progress is built not by lone voices, but by diverse, persistent, and principled collaboration across our civic space.

To every citizen who contributes in big ways and small; your vigilance, integrity, and accountability are the foundations upon which better governance is forged.

To our Kogites, your communities, culture, and lived realities enrich the national tapestry and remind us why responsive service delivery matters. To our friends and colleagues in the struggle for a more transparent, inclusive, and effective public sector; your solidarity, ideas, and tireless advocacy propel us toward meaningful change.

As we celebrate, let us renew our vow to:
Promote accountability and transparency in all public affairs.
Advocate for policies that deliver tangible improvements in health, education, security, and infrastructure.

Engage with empathy, humility, and respect for one another’s diverse experiences.

Build partnerships across sectors to drive practical, measurable outcomes.

May this day reinforce our resolve to serve the nation with integrity, courage, and unity. Together, we can transform commitment into concrete, enduring progress for Nigeria and its people.

Happy Independent Day to all who stand for a better nation and enhanced service delivery. Nigeria shall prevail.

Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina
Executive Director
