Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Abdullahi said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to recognising, appreciating, and maintaining strong relationships with former leaders who contributed to the growth and development of Abaji Area Council.

He described Hon. Gawu as a respected elder and former leader whose contributions to the political and administrative development of the area remain worthy of recognition.

“The presentation of this vehicle is a symbol of respect and gratitude. We believe that leadership is a continuum, and those who have served before us deserve honour and dignity,” the Executive Chairman stated.

Hon. Abdullahi further reiterated his commitment to running an administration founded on mutual respect, consultation, and shared responsibility, while ensuring that individuals who played significant roles in the history of Abaji are not forgotten.

In his response, the former Chairman, Hon. Yahaya Garba Gawu, expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman for what he called “a remarkable demonstration of respect, goodwill, and political maturity.”

He prayed for continued success, wisdom, and prosperity for Hon. Abdullahi and his administration, and urged stakeholders in Abaji to continue supporting the current leadership for the overall development of the area.

The event was witnessed by council officials, political stakeholders, and well-wishers.
