ACCESS TO BASIC NECESSITIES, PANACEA TO PEACE AND SECURITY – Amb. Umar Bello

A recipient of the United Nations Eminent Peace Ambassador’s Award, Amb. Usman Umar Bello has asserted that the availability and access to the basic necessity of live such as food and Shelter, basic amenities and access to education to all in the society were prerequisites for peaceful and harmonious coexistence in any society and also key to security be it individual, National and international security .

Amb. Umar Bello also pointed out that, peace and security was more to Arms and Guns, saying , provision of basic amenities such as food and Shelter, availability of social amenities and education for all , including catering for the poor would help to enhance peace and reduce security threats in our various Communities and the Country in general.

Ambassador Bello made the assertion during his Induction and Conferement as an Eminent Peace Ambassador of the united Nations, by the Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre, Nigeria, at her Annual International Summit for Peace Practitioners General Assembly, 2024 , Induction /Award ceremony, with the theme, “promotion of social justice in Nigeria, held Tuesday December 17th,2024,at the Auditorium of the Nigeria National Merit Award House , Maitama Abuja.

Commenting on the honour accorded him,Amb. Umar Bello expressed delight and his profound gratitude to the Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre Nigeria, saying that the award bestowed on him was a mark of honour and recognition for his contributions to peace building, promotion of peaceful and harmonious coexistence in the society, stressing that it was also a demonstration of the trust and confidence the institution has in him.

Continuing, the Eminent Ambassador of the United Nations stated that, the award was a call for the continuation of what he was already doing, which is positive service to humanity.
