Kogi ADC Ratifies Abejide’s Suspension, 4 Others For Alleged Anti-Party Activities
LOKOJA: The Kogi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress ADC has ratified the suspension of Hon. Leke Abejude and five other members, for alleged anti-party activities and insubordination.
Addressing newsmen by the secretary of the party Hon Adaji John Udale in Lokoja on Monday, said the suspension is with immediate effect as announced by the State Working Committee SWC.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, the party cited “disloyalty” and “insubordination” as reasons for the action.
The SWC specifically referenced an incident at Harris Hotel in Abuja where some members allegedly “usurped the power of the leadership” and engaged in activities contrary to the party’s constitution.
The other suspended members are: Dr. Idris Omede (Abejide’s running mate in the last Kogi state governorship election), Hon. Johnson Tayo, Lukman Usman Adedayo and Olabode Kayode.
The party’s leadership stated that the suspension was carried out in accordance with its constitution and followed a review of the members’ activities since the 2023 general elections.
It noted that the suspended members, particularly Abejide and Omede, had failed to honour previous invitations for a hearing.
The suspended members have been directed to appear before the ADC National Working Committee for a fair hearing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 12 noon.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Working Committee unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, and the State Secretary, John Adaji Udale.
