As part of preparations for the official inauguration of the National Executive Council, Zonal Executives, and State Executive Committees across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative Nationwide has intensified efforts to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders in the fight against drug abuse.

On Thursday, 30 July 2026, the National Coordinator of the organization, Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja.

The delegation was warmly received by Muhammad B. Ibrahim, Director of Drugs, who represented the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA.

During the meeting, both organizations held productive discussions on strengthening cooperation and establishing strategic partnerships aimed at combating drug abuse, promoting rehabilitation, and creating greater public awareness across Nigeria.

The discussions also focused on areas where the NDLEA can support the organization’s programmes, advocacy campaigns, community sensitization initiatives, youth engagement, and rehabilitation efforts.

The NDLEA representative commended the Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative Nationwide for its remarkable organizational structure, discipline, and the effective coordination of its activities across various state chapters. He expressed confidence in the organization’s commitment to supporting the national campaign against drug abuse and encouraged continued collaboration with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.

Speaking during the visit, the National President, Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to complementing the efforts of the Federal Government and the NDLEA in addressing the growing challenge of drug abuse through sustained advocacy, education, prevention programmes, rehabilitation awareness, and community-based interventions.

The organization emphasized that the forthcoming inauguration of its National, Zonal, and State Executives marks another significant milestone in expanding its nationwide network and strengthening grassroots participation in the campaign against drug abuse.

The Advocacy Against Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Awareness Initiative Nationwide remains dedicated to building a drug-free society through strategic partnerships, public enlightenment, youth empowerment, rehabilitation awareness, and collective action involving government institutions, civil society organizations, traditional institutions, religious leaders, and the general public.
