AFRIMMA AWARD: Delta State HOSTCOM Congratulates Tantita, Hails Tompolo for Excellent Service to Nigeria

The Delta State Chapter of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM) has congratulated the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on his prestigious “Guardian of the Nation” Award presented to him at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
The Delta State HOSTCOM, in a congratulatory message signed by its Secretary, High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan, and supported by its Chairman, Chief Comrade Sunday Ndidi Enujeke, described the international honour as a significant recognition of Tompolo’s contribution to national service, protection of critical infrastructure and the advancement of peace and development in the Niger Delta.
According to the HOSTCOM leadership, the award is not only a personal recognition of Tompolo but also a moment of pride for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, the oil-producing communities of the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
AFRIMMA honoured Tompolo during its September 12, 2026 event in Dallas, Texas, with the “Guardian of the Nation” recognition. The honour was linked to his contribution, through Tantita, to the protection of Nigeria’s critical national assets, efforts against crude-oil theft and pipeline vandalism, as well as broader contributions to peace, security and development in the Niger Delta.
Speaking on the significance of the honour, High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan, Secretary of Delta State HOSTCOM, and Chairman elect said the AFRIMMA recognition had further drawn international attention to the strategic importance of the Niger Delta and the people who have continued to play critical roles in sustaining Nigeria’s oil and gas economy.
High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan said the “Guardian of the Nation” award should be seen within the broader context of the importance of protecting critical oil and gas infrastructure to Nigeria’s economic stability.
He noted that when strategic petroleum assets are adequately protected, the benefits extend beyond government and operators to include host communities whose lands and environments accommodate oil and gas facilities.
According to him, the protection of national assets requires cooperation among government institutions, security agencies, oil-producing communities, operators and other legitimate stakeholders.
Lamienghan therefore commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its role in the protection of critical oil and gas infrastructure and congratulated its management and personnel on the international recognition.
He said the award demonstrated that service to Nigeria, when properly acknowledged, could receive recognition beyond the shores of the country.
‘TOMPOLO’S HONOUR IS ALSO AN HONOUR TO THE NIGER DELTA’
The HOSTCOM Secretary further said the recognition of Tompolo was particularly significant to the Niger Delta because the region remains central to Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
He stressed the need for sustained peace and cooperation in oil-producing communities, saying that the protection of critical infrastructure should go hand in hand with meaningful development, employment opportunities, environmental responsibility and improved welfare for host communities.
Lamienghan urged all stakeholders in the Niger Delta to regard the AFRIMMA honour as an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, development and responsible participation in the oil and gas sector.
He also congratulated the entire workforce of Tantita for the achievement, describing the award as a recognition that has placed the company and its chairman before an international audience.
Also reacting, the Chairman of Delta State HOSTCOM, Chief Comrade Sunday Ndidi Enujeke, congratulated Tompolo and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited on the prestigious recognition.
Enujeke said oil-producing communities had every reason to celebrate the achievement because the award was connected to an area of national importance—the protection of Nigeria’s strategic economic assets.
He noted that host communities should remain important partners in efforts to protect oil and gas infrastructure, adding that sustainable security in the Niger Delta could only be achieved through cooperation, mutual respect and development-oriented engagement.
The HOSTCOM Chairman said communities should not merely be regarded as locations where oil and gas facilities are situated, but as legitimate stakeholders whose cooperation is essential to the security and sustainability of the petroleum industry.
He therefore called for stronger collaboration among host communities, government agencies, security organisations and operators.
