Agih Micah PhD: A Journey of True Mentorship
Today, we celebrate Dr. Agih Abdul Micah who has successfully defended his PhD thesis in Political Science with specialization in Political Economy and Development Studies, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
This achievement is a culmination of his academic journey made possible by God Almighty and the unwavering guidance, support and mentorship of our dear leader and benefactor, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman.
In brief, years ago, fate brought Dr. Agih and Prof. Usman Ogbo together at Kogi State University, Anyigba now Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba where Prof. Usman spotted Dr. Agih’s potential and nurtured him to become the class representative as recommended by his course mate and later, the Student Union Government (SUG) President. This marked the beginning of a beautiful mentorship with Prof. Usman as the Mentor Extraordinaire, supervising his first and second– degree projects and equally facilitating his appointment into the academia under Prof. Hassan Isah vice chancellorship.

Today, the young mentee of yesteryear has successfully obtained his PhD from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and as we toast to his achievement, we are reminded of the power of true mentorship and therefore wholeheartedly acknowledge Prof. Usman’s lasting impact, which has inspired countless individuals and mentees, including myself.
My dear Prof., we appreciate you sincerely. May God Almighty continue to enlarge your coast. Amin. We are solidly behind you.
