Agojeju-Odo Attack, Killings: Sen. Ohere Commends Gov. Ododo’s Proactive Steps, Condoles Deceased Families.
Sen. Abubakar Ohere has commended Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for the proactive steps he has taken thus far in ensuring that normalcy returns to the crisis community of Agojeju-Odo, in Omala LGA of Kogi State.
The former Senator who represented Kogi Central Senatorial District condemned in strong terms the killing, however condoled with deceased families.
Sen. Ohere in a statement issued to Newsmen, described the attack and killings as inhuman, pointing out that it is man’s inhumanity against his fellow man taking too extreme, said he support the several actions so far taken by the Government in ensuring that normalcy returns.
The former Lawmaker lamented that in spite all efforts towards ensuring peace, some mischief makers who do not mean well for the State would attack defenseless and innocent citizens.
“It is with heavy hearts that I strongly condemn the Killings in Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State.
“Permit me to State that this attack on the
Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State is one too many despite efforts and intervention for peace by previous administration.
“While I without mincing words and reservation condemn this dastardly attack and incident, I wholeheartedly send my deepest condolences to the affected families who lost their loved ones in the dasterdly attack that is unwarranted and unfortunate. To those who are Internally displaced, they should be rest assured that succour and support is been worked out and pray for Almighty God to comfort them.
” Let me however command Gov. Ododo for all of the high powered engagement that has been ongoing to forestall a repeat of such occurrence in Omala LGA. With the commitment thus far, this killers in whatever guise, would not go unpunished.
” We are with the State Government on the proactive steps he has taken thus far towards arriving at lasting peace in Omala LGA and for return of normalcy to the area.
“Let me use this medium to solicit for calm from the people as the machinery for long lasting and permanent peace to return to Omala LGA has been sincerely activated by Gov. Ododo”.
