Aiyegunle Gbede Community Celebrates Prof. Amupitan’s INEC Appointment
The Aiyegunle Gbede Traditional Council, the Executive Council of the Aiyegunle Gbede Descendants’ Union (AGDU), and the entire Ọhọnọ community have congratulated Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, on his appointment as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement signed by Ahmed-Ade Fatai, National President of AGDU, the community described the appointment as a personal achievement and an honour to the Ijumu Kingdom and Kogi State.
They praised Prof. Amupitan’s exceptional brilliance, integrity, and decades of service to the legal profession, academia, and Nigeria.
The community expressed confidence that Prof. Amupitan would leverage his experience, patriotism, and fairness to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic process and ensure credible elections.
They prayed for God’s guidance and protection as he takes on the national assignment.
“We are proud of your remarkable journey and grateful to God for this divine favour,” the statement read. “You have made us proud, and we stand firmly behind you as you embark on this historic service to the nation.”
Prof. Amupitan’s appointment is seen as a recognition of his diligence, character, and excellence, and the community pledged its support as he serves in this new capacity.
