Ajaokuta Reps. Member, Abdulraheem, lauds President Tinubu over signing of MoU between Nigeria, Russian for the rehabilitation, operation of Ajaokuta Steel
The Member Representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU), for the rehabilitation of Ajaokuta Steel company and National Iron Ore Mining Company Itakpe.
The member who also commended the Minister of Steel Development, Shaibu Abubakar Audu, noted that the effective and commercial operation of the Ajaokuta steel company will signal the industrial revolution of Nigeria.
He noted that when Ajaokuta is fully operational, the multiplying effect will lead to foreign exchange earnings, generation of employment, provision of manpower needs of Nigeria through technology transfer among others.

“These benefits are not limited to employment creation, steel, rod supply and other investment opportunities alone but also to the growth and development of the nation.

While commending the Sole Administrator of the company Engr. Sumaila Aka’aba, the management team and the staff for keeping the hope of a functional Ajaokuta steel company alive through maintenance and security of the national asset, he charged them to work relentlessly until the goal of a viable Ajaokuta steel is realized.
He stressed that as a lawmaker from the area, he will continue rally the support of his colleagues to make legislation that will fastract the completion and operation of the two companies, Ajaokuta steel and Itakpe iron ore mining company.
He called on the people of Kogi state, particularly the people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, to continue to support the initiative of the administration of president Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the state Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure early completion of the companies.
