chairman, Adhoc committee on illegal mining
The Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem has been appointment, Chairman, House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on illegal mining.
This was announced by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, during the house plenary on Wednesday 23 July 2025.
Hon. Abdulraheem, Who broke the cheering news to Journalists on Wednesday, shortly after the announcement said “In the course of handling emerging national matters before the House, I have been appointed to serve as the Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee on Illegal Mining.

“I deeply appreciate the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and the entire leadership and members of the House of Representatives for their trust and confidence in my capacity to lead this critical assignment.
Speaking further he said “This responsibility is one I do not take lightly. I assure the House, and indeed the good people of Nigeria, that I will discharge this duty with diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment. That which is expected of me will, by God’s grace, be done.
“Let us work together to protect our natural resources, uphold the law, and secure a better future for all.
