Amuro Baale-Chief Fiki Praises Gov. Ododo’s Security Tech Leap

By Stephen Adeleye

The Baale of Amuro Land, His Highness Chief Eric Fiki, has publicly commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for procuring two PH‑20 Unmanned Aerial Systems and other advanced security assets.

The Amuro Baale described the move as a “strategic, technology‑driven approach” to combating terrorists and bandits across the state.

The drones, inaugurated on Monday by Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu at Chari Maigumeri Barracks, are set to boost real‑time surveillance and rapid‑response capabilities for military and other security forces.

In a statement released Tuesday in Lokoja, Chief Fiki praised the governor’s “visionary and purposeful leadership” and his “unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.”

He noted that residents of Yagba—an area recently hit by bandit attacks—are “inspired and excited” by the gesture, which they believe will help stamp out criminal elements terrorizing the region.

The Amuro Baale also highlighted Kogi’s broader security achievements, pointing to the absorption of 2,752 vigilante personnel into the civil service and the recruitment of hunters across the state.

These measures, he said, have helped Kogi earn a reputation as the most peaceful state in the North‑Central zone.

The Amuro Baale called for immediate deployment of the drones and other security assets to smoke out bandits and other criminal elements from their camps and hideouts in Yagba, Kogi West and the entire State at large.

“These investments demonstrate that security is a top priority of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Gov Ahmed Usman Ododo and his administration

Chief Fiki reaffirmed the people of Amuro’s “unwavering support” for Governor Ododo and expressing confidence that the new technology will deliver lasting peace and stability for Kogi State.
