AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR

Subject: The Need to Recognize the Strategic Importance of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, in Strengthening Northern Political Alliances and Securing the Future of the APC.

By Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu
Zonal Coordinator (North-West)
Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement (BAT-MVT) on 13th November 2025

Your Excellency,

With the highest sense of respect, loyalty, and commitment to the success of your administration, I humbly write this open letter to you as a devoted supporter of your leadership and as one who earnestly desires the continued progress, unity, and stability of our great nation, Nigeria.

Mr. President, history has already recorded your name as one of the most courageous and visionary leaders Nigeria has produced. Your political dexterity, resilience, and long years of struggle have shown the world that you are a leader who understands the dynamics of power and governance. Indeed, your commitment to building bridges across regions and tribes is a model of national inclusivity.

However, as our nation continues to evolve politically, it becomes imperative to recognize and strategically engage those who possess the grassroots connections, political wisdom, and deep psychological understanding of the Nigerian electorate—particularly our brothers and sisters in the North, whose support remains a decisive factor in national politics.

Your Excellency, it would be unwise to underestimate the political strength, deep grassroots influence, and vast experience of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, the former Governor of Kano State and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dr. Ganduje is not just a politician; he is a tested strategist who understands the language, culture, and political temperament of Northern Nigeria. His ability to mobilize and communicate effectively with the Northern electorate is unmatched. Many will recall that at a critical moment in our political journey—when forces stood against your presidential aspiration—Dr. Ganduje demonstrated unwavering loyalty, courage, and political foresight. His influence and alignment at that time were instrumental in securing the support base that contributed to your emergence as the APC Presidential Candidate.

Mr. President, as the nation approaches another defining political season, the task of maintaining unity within the APC and consolidating your support across all regions—especially the North—requires tact, wisdom, and inclusion. Dr. Ganduje’s political experience and his network of loyal supporters across Northern Nigeria are assets that must not be ignored.

Under his leadership as APC National Chairman, the party witnessed a period of renewed vigor, characterized by high-profile defections and strengthened alliances that expanded the APC’s reach. Ganduje was instrumental in persuading influential figures from opposition parties to join the APC—moves that did not only make headlines but translated into genuine political strength at the grassroots.

Few leaders possess the blend of political experience, strategic foresight, and loyalty that Dr. Ganduje represents. His leadership in Kano—a state that remains one of Nigeria’s largest political strongholds—demonstrates his ability to consolidate diverse interests and deliver tangible results. Indeed, most major political actors in Kano today have aligned with the APC under his influence, reinforcing the state as a solid base for your administration and the party’s future.

Your Excellency, I say this with utmost sincerity and concern: if the APC truly desires to maintain its dominance and secure victory in 2027, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje must not be kept at arm’s length. His insights, his understanding of the current political realities in the North, and his connection with the grassroots remain critical to any successful political strategy going forward.

As one who interacts closely with our people across the North-West, I must humbly inform Your Excellency that the political atmosphere in several Northern states is fragile. The enthusiasm that once accompanied the “Renewed Hope” movement is gradually diminishing due to perceived distance between the Presidency and certain key political figures who understand the local realities. Dr. Ganduje’s re-engagement could play a pivotal role in bridging this gap, reviving confidence, and reawakening grassroots mobilization.

Mr. President, your political instincts have always been unmatched; you recognize talent and loyalty where others see competition. It is in that spirit that I respectfully urge you to bring Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje closer once again—not only as a loyal ally but as a strategic partner in fortifying your Northern base and preserving the unity of our great party.

May Almighty God continue to grant you good health, wisdom, and divine guidance as you lead our dear nation toward greater prosperity and unity under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

With profound respect and unwavering loyalty,

Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu
