APC CHIEFTAINS, OTHERS DUMP PARTY FOR PDP IN OREROKPE
*** WUEDA Boss, Prince Godwin Ejinyere Hails Governor Oborevwori For Numerous Projects In The Area
Six chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and twenty four others in Orerokpe Ward One, Okpe Local Government Area have decamped to the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.
The APC big-wigs who decamped with their supporters, submitted their voter and membership cards, as well as other paraphernalia of their former political party to the Exco and members of Orerokpe Ward One who were in a meeting.
Notable among the 30 APC decampees were Deacon French Afe, Mr. Peter lguele, Barrister Emmanuel Erharhire, Comrade Onome Otarhonor, Mr. Peter Agatevure, and Sarah Akpokerewan.
They hinged their decision to leave the APC on the need to be under the protective and accommodating cool shelter of the PDP umbrella.
Receiving the 30 APC decampees on behalf of the Ward, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Ramson Ikweki said the fire of the opposition has been extinguished in Orerokpe PDP Ward One.
Explaining that the PDP has been successfully leading the State, Chief Ikweki noted that a campus of the University had been established in Orerokpe to bring education nearer the people and commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his wonderful work so far.
A PDP leader and political appointee in the Ward, Chief Francis Okan, the ward chairman, Comrade Paul Ogbogbor as well as a leader, Mr. Isaac Itebu noted that election is a collective effort, and described Orerokpe Ward One as the light of PDP in Okpe LGA.
The PDP leader in Orerokpe Ward One, and Director General of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Devt Agency, WUEDA, Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere described PDP as a big political family ready to accommodate new members and decampees.
Prince Godwin Ejinyere, the Duke of Orerokpe District thanked Ward One PDP family for voting for the PDP and electing Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor.
He commended the ongoing restructuring of the Central Hospital in Orerokpe to the status of an ultra-modern Teaching Hospital and appreciated the Governor for all the other projects cited in the area.
