APC Kogi West Commissions Office inaugurates Campaign Council in Kabba

The governing All Progressives Congress in Kogi West Senatorial District commissioned its office yesterday in Kabba, the headquarters of the senatorial district.

In his opening remarks, the Director General of the Campaign Council in Kogi West, Hon. Funsho Olumoko aka Ogi di Omo reiterated his commitment and determination to achieve great success for the party in the forthcoming Governorship election in the state, stressing that he is blessed to have a formidable team that can deliver across the seven local government areas in the zone.

He wonders why the opposition parties are still going around campaigning and wasting their resources without checking out those that will do the work for them to win, pointing out that it is no longer news that almost all heavyweight politicians in various local governments have decamped to the APC, saying who else will do the work for them.

He noted that he has been in politics for some time now and any resolution from any meeting he is not invited to be part of cannot be binding on him. Says he is not part of any agenda that is different from Kogi, adding that those posturing an Okun agenda are only out to exploit the name to gain cheap political popularity.

He charged party members to remain committed to the party as anyone who allowed him/herself to be used by the opposition is only doing that at his or her peril, pointing out that after using them, they will not trust such a person again.

Hon Olumoko said members should be rest assured that the rewards system will change to reward party members who truly work for the overall success of the party, pointing out that everyone cannot get an appointment or employment but there will be a system whereby every member will one way or the other be compensated.

He said the election is already a done deal with the calibre of men and women supporting the candidate of the party, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman. He urged all committee members to return home and continue the house-to-house and door-to-door campaign.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Honourable Wemi Jones in his address said the people of Kogi West are going into a contest to know which of the Federal Constituencies will come first in terms of the number of votes they come to the table with, pointing out that each of them has what to protect for the good of their people.

He further said Kogi/Lokoja federal Constituency now has the Speaker of the State Assembly, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu, has the University and Yagba Federal Construction have the senator respectively. He noted that with this analysis none of the constituencies have an excuse not to deliver come the November 11 election.

He said the monumental effects of the newly established university in Kabba when fully operational will improve the economic situation of not only the host community but the entire zone tremendously, adding that Kabba-Bunu will produce the highest votes come November 11.

Others who spoke at the occasion, include Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aliyu Yusuf, former Speaker Matthew Kolawole, SSG, Mrs Ayoade Arike, member representing Kogi State Constituency, KGHA,  Commander Jerry Omodara, Hon. Philip Orebiyi, DG Kogi Local Government,  Hon Isah Taufiq, Kogi ALGON Chairman, etc.

Other dignitaries at the event include, Hon. Seyi Bello, Kabba-Bunu, Hon Omotayo Ishaya, Ijumu, Hon Olawumi Jacob, Mopamuro members of Kogi State House of Assembly respectively, Hon Yahaya Adesayo, Commissioner for Special Duties, Executive Chairman, Kabba-Bunu, Mopamuro, Hon.
