The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Grassroots Bridge Builder (GBB) for its unwavering commitment to empowering Nigerians through sustainable skills acquisition.
Professor Yilwatda gave the commendation at a one-day summit organised by the group in Abuja. He was represented at the event by his Special Adviser on National Assembly Affairs, Honourable Daniel Reyenieju.
According to the APC National Chairman, the efforts of the Grassroots Bridge Builder in equipping Nigerians with practical knowledge and skills that promote self-reliance align with the ideology of the ruling party and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Describing GBB’s initiative as highly progressive, Professor Yilwatda stressed that skills acquisition remains the way forward in contemporary Nigeria. He emphasised the need for every Nigerian to acquire at least one skill capable of solving a specific problem and improving livelihoods.
Reacting to questions from journalists on the efforts of the APC-led Federal Government to revive ailing technical colleges across the country, the National Chairman explained that the government has been deliberate and intentional in repositioning technical education.
He noted that the focus on revitalising technical and vocational education began during the immediate past administration and has been further strengthened under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government. He added that this commitment is evident in the revival of several technical colleges through federal government interventions.
