APC Nat’l Chairman Inaugurates Kogi Gubernatorial Campaign Council for November Polls

Ahead of November 11th governorship polls in Kogi State, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has today inaugurated members of the Kogi State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the election of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) and his running mate, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS).
The official inauguration which was held at the Lugard House, Lokoja, witnessed the presence of many APC stakeholders from within and outside the Confluence state.

Dr. Ganduje who had earlier expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure 99% success in the Governorship poll above the 90% success it recorded during the 2023 General election, assured that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is committed to providing conducive and peaceful environment to conduct credible polls.
Chairman of the Campaign Council and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun while accepting the responsibility to lead the APC to victory on behalf of other members said there is obviously no vacancy in the Lugard House judging from the verifiable performance of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, since assumption of office over seven years ago. He maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has special interest in the election and eventual victory of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, which according to him, necessitated his approval of Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo’Olu to co-chair the party to victory.
While congratulating the people of Kogi State for the choice of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman for the consolidation of Governor Yahaya Bello’s legacy, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak assurance of easy victory judging from the committed APC members that made up the campaign council. The Kwara State Governor said Kogi State is a dependable ally and offspring of his state which he said is traditionally an APC state due to the established victory template by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Earlier, Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, had conveyed the deepest appreciation of the people of Kogi State to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for exemplifying astute leadership and figure of democracy in Nigeria and West Africa. Governor Yahaya Bello notes that with the assemblage of creme de la creme in the All Progressives Congress, the November 11th governorship election would be the easiest for his party.
Governor Yahaya Bello who further declared that there is nobody contesting the election against the APC, encouraged all members of his party to go about their campaign activities without any possible fear of molestation from the weakened and disillusioned opposition parties.
“I implore all of you to base your campaigns on issues and the achievements that we have made over the years. I can assure you that we will win the election without stress. This is because I see no opposition in the state. We’re are united and solidly working for the success of Alhaji Ododo. Our success in the previous elections shall be surpassed”, he said.
Aside Osun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who is the Chairman of the campaign and council and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo’Olu who is the co-chair, other Governors present were Niger State Governor, Alhaji Umar Bago; Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak; Benue State Governor ably represented by his Deputy, Mr Sam Ode.
Other notable personalities present were former Imo Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, members of APC National Working Committee, Senator Isah Echocho, Senator Sadiku Ohere, Kogi State members of House of Representatives and all state functionaries.
Highlight of the inauguration programme was unveiling and presentation of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman’s manifesto and plans for the people of Kogi State when he assumes office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
