By Ahiaba Douglas
The North Central Women Leader of Team Tinubu 2027 and Founder of Women in Focus for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027, Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim, has appealed to the Igala community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid.
She made the call while delivering her goodwill message at the 2025 Merit Award, Get-Together, and Fundraising Ceremony for the procurement of an ambulance van for the Igala community in the FCT. The event was organized by the Igala Traditional Council of Chiefs, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chapter, an arm of the Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA).
Hajiya Ramatu based her appeal on the “transformational trajectory” of the Tinubu-led administration, citing ongoing reforms and the need to consolidate on the gains already recorded.
According to her, beyond the reforms, President Tinubu has demonstrated goodwill toward the Igala Kingdom and Kogi State through the appointment of several qualified sons and daughters of the region into key national positions. She referenced the appointments of the current Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Shaibu Waidi, and the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, among others, as clear reasons the community should reciprocate by supporting the President’s second-term bid.
She emphasized that these appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to equity, fairness, and inclusive governance.
Reacting to her conferment with the Ebulejonu chieftaincy title—symbolic of a Queen Mother who oversees women’s affairs within the Igala community in AMAC—Hajiya Ramatu expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. She pledged her unwavering commitment to strengthening unity among Igala women in the council.
Hajiya Ramatu, who also holds the title Jaruma Mata of Africa, reaffirmed her continued support for the activities of the Igala Cultural Development Association both within the FCT and across the wider Igala Kingdom.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Igala Traditional Council of Chiefs, AMAC, His Royal Highness Chief Abdulsalam Tijani Musa (Oga Atah Igala), praised Hajiya Ramatu for her immense contributions to the ICDA and her positive impact on the lives of many Igala indigenes in the FCT.
He described her as a patriotic, loving, and selfless mother figure who consistently prioritizes the welfare of her people.
