APPEAL FOR URGENT ASSISTANCE FOLLOWING DEVASTATING FIRE INCIDENT
Mr. Thomas Anya, a resident of the Zango area in Lokoja, Kogi State, and originally from Edo State, is urgently seeking public assistance following a catastrophic fire incident. Mr. Anya has been battling a chronic illness since 2002, which has prevented him from continuing his work as a technician due to medical advice against engaging in physical labour.
On the morning of the incident, around 10:00 AM, Mr. Anya was asleep when he detected smoke. Upon investigation, he discovered that the smoke was emanating from his neighbour’s locked room. Despite his attempts to force the door open and call for help, the fire rapidly spread. In his efforts to contain the situation, Mr. Anya sustained burns to his back, as he was only wearing shorts at the time.
The fire completely consumed the structure, leaving nothing salvageable. All personal belongings, including essential documents, clothing, and possessions of his wife and children, were lost. Items destroyed in the fire include:
– Full sets of chairs
– Six beds
– Television
– CD player
– Home theatre system
– Various household items and countless other belongings
The house was Mr. Anya’s only completed home, as he was unable to finish another building project in Lokoja due to his illness. The fire has exacerbated his already fragile health condition, leaving him without shelter, belongings, or clothing beyond what he was wearing at the time of the incident.
Mr. Anya’s neighbours can attest to the total loss incurred, as nothing was recovered from the fire. He is now in dire need of support to rebuild his life.
Mr. Anya humbly appeals for any form of assistance to help him recover from this devastating loss. The fire has obliterated everything he has worked for, and he is currently in a state of profound despair. He earnestly seeks your compassion and assistance during this difficult time. Any support you can offer will be deeply appreciated.
He has an urgent need for shelter and a modest means of livelihoods
