Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom and renowned philanthropist, has announced the donation of four motorised boreholes to Ogale/Aduge Ward in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Prince Olusoji announced the donation during a condolence visit to the family of the late Hon. Solomon Mayowa Oyewole, the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area, who died recently.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the philanthropist to commiserate with the people of Ogale/Aduge Ward, the community from which the late party chairman hailed, over the loss of their illustrious son.
The donation has drawn the appreciation of the ward’s leadership, which formally conveyed its gratitude to Prince Olusoji for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of compassion, generosity and commitment to grassroots development.
In a letter of appreciation addressed to Prince Olusoji, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Grosvenor Global Services Limited, the leadership praised him for remembering the needs of the community at a time when he had visited to share in their grief.
The letter, signed by the Leader of Ogale/Aduge Ward, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, noted that the provision of the four motorised boreholes would significantly improve access to clean and potable water and provide relief to residents.
According to the ward leadership, the intervention reflects Prince Olusoji’s concern for the welfare of the people and his willingness to support initiatives that address essential community needs.
“Your generosity is more than a donation; it is a legacy of service and a testament to your love for humanity,” the letter read in part.
Dr. Fashagba, who is also the Provost of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, said the people of Ogale/Aduge Ward were deeply grateful for the donation, which he described as a laudable contribution to the development and wellbeing of the community.
He added that the gesture would be remembered as a meaningful intervention capable of improving residents’ access to one of life’s most essential resources.
The community leader also prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Prince Olusoji, asking for good health, greater accomplishments and abundant resources to enable him to extend his humanitarian activities to more people.
“Thank you for remembering the people of Ogale/Aduge Ward,” Dr. Fashagba said, while conveying the community’s profound appreciation and highest regards to the donor.
The donation combines a gesture of condolence with a commitment to community welfare, as Prince Olusoji’s announcement offers a practical response to the need for improved access to potable water in Ogale/Aduge Ward.
The ward leadership expressed hope that the intervention would bring lasting benefits to residents and further strengthen efforts by individuals and organisations to support development at the grassroots level.
