Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji: His legacy, philanthropy, influence

It is normal to recognise the act of giving as a voluntary & altruistic choice.

But the society which we live in necessitate some God – sent individuals to leaving a lasting legacy of love, magnanimity, compassion & social progress.

It is, therefore, trite to say that, philanthropy is an integral part of humanity. A philanthropist is someone who opens his hands for others. While some philanthropists make too much fuss about their deeds, others play their cards silently.

Asiwaju (Prince) Olatunji Olusoji, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Grosvenor Group is in this class of the later. He is an exemplary man of good gestures.

Over the years, he has managed to keep his philanthropist works away from public arena, especially the media. This is the style of genuine cheerful givers; those who give as a matter of empathy, and not on the basis of public acclamation, to be celebrated by men often with bumptious titles and societal epaulettes as reward.

Prince Olusoji’s contributions to the educational emancipation of the youths in his home state of Kogi has further illustrate how giving can shape the future by providing opportunities to those who might otherwise be left behind.

However, the influence of giving reaches far beyond those who directly benefit from it, as it considerably enhance the lives of the givers themselves.

An anecdotal reports consistently illustrate that giving leads to immeasurable personal joy, happiness and a profound sense of fulfilment.

The Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom has certainly exemplifies this trait, as he is a great leader of immense contentment, thereby fostering a sense of purpose and gratification, transcending the limitations of acquiring more material wealth.

Without mincing words, Prince Olusoji’s philanthropist works are divinely propelled & driven by his belief that it is in giving that one can receive bountifully.

That he chooses to live a life of zero celebration and eulogistic propensity is premised on his immovable faith that only God can truly reward those who give bread to the hungry and water to the thirsty.

Nevertheless, it is imperative for the people to acknowledge & appreciate the fact that an act of benevolence should not be substituted for an entitlement ethos. No individual is obliged to give, regardless of his limitless wealth.

Through his Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF), the business extraordinarie has a long – standing culture of communal support, educational endowments, women empowerments, health – care delivery, assistance etc

Kogi state for example, faces several socio – economic challenges, ranging from endemic poverty and educational disparities to health care disparities, & environmental concerns. In view of these societal inbalances, Prince Olusoji has shown a desire and often engage in charitable engagements and philanthropist activities, cultural, religious, moral imperatives, as well as passionate about making a positive impact on the communities.

Give it to a rare personality who is driven by an insatiable curiosity and an unyielding resolve to conquer the challenges bedeviling his people.

The entrepreneur par- excellence has carefully fitted every thread of kindness, benevolence and empathy around the tablets of his heart.

For the unassuming and intellectually – mobile Prince Olusoji, humanity is one irrespective of tribe, gender, class, religion and ethnic diversity.

Therefore, his philanthropist works extend beyond the primordial boundaries or minutest conjectures.

He is of the school of thought that when lack and poverty strip a people to their bone marrows, they’re the same colour in the dark; they bear the same pain in their bodies and equal measure of emotional and psychological torture.

The highly – versatile Olusoji understands this and he has taken to the noble path of philanthropy just to add a veneer of smile to the faces of the highly vulnerable in the society. And, he does this without recourse to ethnic configuration.

In a clime where the primary concern of some politically inclined individuals give for what they can get, Prince Olusoji gives without expecting.

Through his PROOF organisation, the virtues of unity, oneness, progress, understanding and tolerance have been forstered among people of all ethnic divides and many have been lifted out of poverty and communities improved considerably.

Truth be told, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji has carved a niche for himself and therefore deserves lotus for his humanitarian services, altruism, emancipation & philanthropic works.

Gallands to an egalitarian leader, may your ships sail on calm waters. Amen!
