Attack on Ikoyi-Ijumu, Rumoured Threats to Neighbouring Communities: Security Agencies Must Remain on High Alert — MOY

By Sunday Ajayi

Hon. Musa Olumayowa Yakubu (MOY), the ADC Flagbearer for the Ijumu State Constituency, has called for heightened vigilance across Ijumu Local Government Area following the recent attack in Ikoyi-Ijumu, which was reportedly foiled by security operatives through a swift and coordinated response.

MOY expressed concern over growing reports of threats allegedly issued by bandits to neighbouring communities in Ekiti State, stressing the need for proactive security measures to prevent any possible spillover into Ijumu and surrounding areas.

“Security agencies must intensify surveillance and strengthen security operations across the area, particularly in Ijumu LGA,” he said.

He further stated:

“At this critical moment, all security formations—including the military, police, vigilante groups, civil defence personnel, and local hunters—must remain on maximum alert to prevent any further attacks and reassure residents of their safety.”

MOY also urged community members to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious movements, and cooperate fully with security agencies.

“The protection of lives and property requires a collective effort, especially at a time when criminal elements may be seeking to exploit fear and uncertainty. The security success recorded in Ikoyi-Ijumu should not lead to complacency. Rather, it should serve as a reminder that sustained vigilance, intelligence gathering, and community cooperation are essential to keeping our communities safe,” he concluded.
