Barau Congratulates 21 Kano Special Advisers, Calls for Loyalty, Service and APC Unity.

KANO — Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has congratulated the 21 newly appointed Special Advisers to Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, urging them to demonstrate loyalty, diligence, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their official duties.
Senator Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the new appointees had been entrusted with important responsibilities at a critical period and should therefore regard their appointments as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance and the development of Kano State.

He urged the Special Advisers to serve as good ambassadors of the government in their respective ministries and offices, stressing that their effectiveness should be measured by their commitment to public service, ability to work with other officials and capacity to translate government policies into tangible benefits for the people.
Barau also commended Governor Yusuf for appointing some individuals associated with the legacy All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a step that could contribute to greater political understanding and reconciliation within the party.
According to him, bringing people from different political backgrounds together under one platform is important for strengthening cooperation and reducing divisions among APC members as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The Deputy Senate President called on the newly appointed Special Advisers to put aside personal interests and focus on the broader interests of Kano State and the success of the administration.
He said the appointees should use their positions to promote constructive engagement, responsive governance and unity among stakeholders, while maintaining respect for the offices they occupy.
Senator Barau also appealed to APC members across Kano State to support the new appointees and cooperate with the state government in areas where such cooperation would advance the interests of the people.
He further urged members of the APC to work collectively for the success of the party from the grassroots to the national level, encapsulated in the political slogan “APC SAK” — APC from top to bottom.
The Deputy Senate President’s call comes amid increased political mobilisation within Kano ahead of the 2027 general elections. In recent weeks, he has publicly emphasised party unity, grassroots mobilisation and cooperation among APC stakeholders.
He recently inaugurated an APC campaign council for Kano North and charged its members to take the party’s mobilisation to communities across the district.
The Deputy Senate President equally reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and called on APC members to mobilise support for the President’s second-term bid, while encouraging party stakeholders in Kano to strengthen their cooperation at all levels.
He commended Governor Yusuf for what he described as efforts toward greater political accommodation and for various developmental initiatives being undertaken by the Kano State Government.
Barau said the interests of Kano should remain at the centre of political activities, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to undermine governance, development or the collective aspirations of the people.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the latest appeal further highlights the growing emphasis among Kano APC stakeholders on unity, grassroots mobilisation and coordinated political activities.
For the newly appointed Special Advisers, however, their immediate responsibility remains the effective discharge of their assignments and the delivery of services that respond to the needs of Kano residents.
Senator Barau therefore urged them to justify the confidence placed in them by the government and the people by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, dedication and measurable results in their respective areas of responsibility.
He expressed optimism that cooperation among political leaders, government officials, party members and the wider public would strengthen the capacity of the government to pursue its development agenda and contribute to a more united political environment in Kano State.
