BEYOND THE HEADLINES: WWT UNVEILS 239-WARD GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION PLAN IN KOGI

Strong turnout, strategic presentations and a clear 2027 roadmap marked WWT’s International Press Conference In Lokoja.

By Pastor Stanley Omoniyi Ajileye

Lokoja hosted a major political gathering on Thursday, October 29, 2026, as the Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme held an International Press Conference attended by political stakeholders, party members, programme officials, supporters and the media.

The event showcased WWT’s organisational readiness and unveiled its plan to build a coordinated grassroots network across all 239 electoral wards in Kogi State ahead of the 2027 elections.

Addressed by the Kogi State Programme Coordinator, Hon. Sani Phillips, the conference reviewed the programme’s achievements and announced its next phase.

WWT began its statewide engagement with town hall meetings across Idah, Ankpa and Dekina Federal Constituencies. The meetings promoted stakeholder dialogue, policy communication and discussions on community concerns.

The participation of Distinguished Senators Sunday Steve Karimi and Jibrin Isah Echocho, Chairman and Co-Chairman of the programme, strengthened the initiative’s stakeholder engagement.

Having completed this phase, WWT is now focusing on establishing structures across Kogi’s 239 electoral wards.

WWT announced the simultaneous inauguration of Ward Executives across all 239 wards on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

The initiative will connect the state’s three senatorial districts, 21 Local Government Areas and 239 wards through a coordinated network of executives, volunteers and stakeholders.

By taking its structure directly to the wards, WWT aims to build sustained engagement where communities live and political conversations take place.

At the heart of the conference was WWT’s clarification that it is not a campaign council but a grassroots mobilisation programme built from the wards upwards.

Its structure will grow from the wards through the local governments to the state level, placing citizens at the centre of political engagement.

The approach is intended to ensure that no ward or community is neglected and that political participation continues beyond election periods.

The conference identified five priorities for the new grassroots structures: ward-level coordination, policy communication, community engagement, volunteer mobilisation, and monitoring and accountability.

These priorities involve establishing clear leadership and communication channels, sharing accurate information about the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, listening to citizens and documenting local concerns, promoting peaceful and voluntary participation, and tracking activities to measure progress.

These commitments show that WWT intends to build an operational network, not merely inaugurate political executives.

The programme also reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising lawful and voluntary support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Its objective is to provide a coordinated platform for communicating party programmes and engaging communities across Kogi State.

Its emphasis on persuasion, factual communication and respect for democratic rights establishes a framework for peaceful political participation.

Another commendable feature of the conference was its emphasis on discipline, peaceful conduct and responsible political engagement. Members and supporters were urged to avoid inflammatory statements, personal attacks, provocation and other conduct capable of creating unnecessary tension.

The message was clear: mobilisation, not confrontation.

WWT also welcomed objective media scrutiny, recognising that transparency and responsible reporting are essential to public confidence.

Ultimately, the success of the 239-ward initiative will depend on implementation, leadership, coordination and sustained community engagement. The ward structures must remain active, communicate with residents, document concerns, encourage participation and produce reliable reports.

The five deliverables provide a practical framework for measuring progress and holding the structures accountable.

Pastor Stanley Ajileye is the Kogi State Secretary, WWT Grassroot Mobilisation Program.
