Bode Ogunmola Withdraws as APC Candidate for Ogori/Magongo Assembly Seat
Hon. Prince Bode Ogunmola has voluntarily withdrawn as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Ogori/Magongo State Constituency ahead of the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly election.
In a letter dated June 4, 2026, addressed to the Kogi State APC Chairman through the LGA and Ward Chairmen, Ogunmola formally notified the party of his decision to step down.
“I, Hon. Prince Bode Ogunmola, hereby formally notify the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kogi State Chapter, and all relevant authorities of my voluntary decision to withdraw as the party’s candidate for Ogori/Magongo State Constituency,” he wrote.
Ogunmola said the decision followed “deep reflection, consultations with my family, and elders of my community,” and was taken “in the best interest of the party, and my constituency.”
Despite stepping down, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the ruling party and pledged to work for its success.
“Let me state unequivocally that I remain committed to the ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress and I will remain a loyal party man and will work for the success of the party in all elections,” he stated.
The Ogori/Magongo-born politician also thanked APC leadership, stakeholders, and members for their support during the primaries, saying he would “continue to support the party and work for its victory in Ogori/Magongo, Kogi State and the nation at large.”
Copies of the letter were sent to the APC National Chairman in Abuja and the APC Chairman, Ogori/Magongo LGA.
Ogunmola’s withdrawal opens the way for APC Kogi State to either conduct a fresh primary or nominate a replacement candidate for Ogori/Magongo, a constituency known for tight political contests.
