Breaking: Contractors ask President Tinubu to sack Works Minister, Permanent Secretary, Director of Finance with immediate effect, protest diversion of N57 billion contract funds
Contractors working with the Federal Ministry of Works have asked President Bola Tinubu to sack the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, the Permanent Secretary and Director of Finance and Administration of the Ministry respectively, while protesting non payment of the contract works done.
Speaking at the Ministry Headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja while picketing the Ministry, the spokesperson of the contractors, Engr. Chuka Nwoye said their actions have become imperative since the Minister and other management members of the Ministry are not ready to pay them the contracts they have executed long ago.
He said they have on good authority that the sum of N57 billion has been released but now diverted hence their call on President Tinubu to relieve them of their positions to allow for thorough investigation, stressing that the contractors are sick and tired of their attitude.
He noted that the current administration mean well for the people of Nigeria by way of its policies and programs but it seems their officers are hell bent on creating problems for the government.
They urged the President to take immediate action to save his administration the shame those appointed may bring to him.
