Broadcast guru task practicing Journalists on Time management

 

A broadcast guru Constance Ogonna Egwuatu has called on media practitioners in the Country to effectively manage their time to achieve a productive results in their journalism carrier.

 

The Head of Station, Confluence Cable Network, owners of Confluence Television, (CTV) and Grace 95.5FM Lokoja gave the charge in Abuja during a three day training on content writing and production training for digital content creators and broadcast media executive.

 

The training which was organized by Fynimage Consulting Limited in partnership with Grace 95.5FM and Save the Child Health and Empowerment Initiative, (SACHEM) is aimed at improving the quality delivery of staffs in CCN.

 

 

Speaking on the topic” Time Management, an important tool for productivity” Constance Ogonna Egwuatu described time management as the proper planning of time to achieve desired result in an organization.

 

 

While pointing on the need for journalists to remain focused, plan properly, organize their content, delegate duties, perform their duties to succeed in their duties, the broadcast guru opined that many journalists have lost their bearing in achieving maximum result for not observing the above qualities itemized.

 

 

Stressing on the need to delegate duties and set both short and longs term goals, Egwuatu explained that, to achieve a realistic goals, it is important to know your personality, character trait, background check, ability to manage oneself effectively which will translate to manage time properly.

 

On the tools that aid time management, the mental health expert suggested the need for journalists to be focused(Define goals, avoid distraction), have team spirit, (Delegation and avoid sentiment), and be organized (diligence, supervision).

 

She identified increase efficiency, competency, productivity, getting more patronage, attainment of success as some of the advàntage of time management.

 

Egwuatu further pointed out envy, gossip, low productivity, stifle creativity, low patronage and loss of revenue as some of the demerits of failure to manage time effectively.

 

For effective time management, Egwuatu appealed to journalists to set a daily goals, create schedules and develop realistic deadlines, and delegate roles and supervise appropriately.
