Building Grassroots Resilience: Karimi Supports Smallholder Farmers with Free Inputs
Akin Fanodun – Kabba
Leadership is not measured only by positions held but by the impact made in the lives of ordinary people. In Kogi West, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has once again proven that he is a leader who understands the real needs of his people and is ready to invest in their future.
Yesterday, in a remarkable show of commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Senator Karimi distributed over 300 bags of fertilizers, sprayer machines, agro-chemicals, and other farm inputs all free of charge to members of Agbeloba Multipurpose Cooperative Society, representing smallholder farmers across the seven LGAs of Kogi West.
This is not an isolated gesture. Just a few months ago, the Senator provided over 2,000 bags of urea fertilizer to farmers across Kogi West. His wife, Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi, also extended similar support to Women Farmers in Kabba-Bunu LGA last month. This consistency in agricultural support shows that Senator Karimi is not waiting for election seasons to care for his people he is building lasting structures of empowerment and food security.
The beneficiaries themselves acknowledged this rare leadership.
Mr. Ali Idris, Chairman of the Lokoja/Kogi branch of Agbeloba Cooperative, said: “Since I became a farmer, no senator has ever done this for our group. Senator Karimi has made history, and this support will greatly boost our work this farming season.”
Mr. Jacob Kadiri, Chairman of the Ijumu branch, described the gesture as “almost unbelievable,” praying for God’s abundant blessings on the Senator and his family.
Senator Karimi’s interventions are more than charity they are bold investments in food security, economic growth, and the dignity of labour. At a time when many farmers struggle with the high cost of inputs, he has shown uncommon generosity, foresight, and a heart for service.
With these actions, Senator Karimi is writing his name in gold as a true servant leader one who does not just represent Kogi West in Abuja, but brings hope, support, and real change back home.
Truly, leaders like him remind us that politics can be about people, progress, and prosperity.
