Burnt Kogi Assembly Complex: Kogi Works Commissioner urges Contractor to expedite action to meet up with completion deadline

Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing Hon. Samson Bako during an unscheduled visit, has asked the contractor handling the renovation of Kogi state burnt House of Assembly complex to expedite action in order to meet up with the stipulated timeline.
Bako gave this instruction at the site of Josmud Nigeria Ltd in Lokoja on Wednesday 23/08/2023 while inspecting the level of work in accordance with the work plan of the project.
Bako who expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment and determination of the contractor to deliver on schedule also charged him to maintain the same tempo till the execution and handing over of the project in September.
The Kogi State Government on Friday 07/07/2023 awarded the contract for the renovation of the burnt state House of Assembly Complex.
The contract was awarded to Josmud Nigeria Ltd with an eight-week ultimatum to execute the project.
It could be recalled that the assembly complex was gutted by a mysterious fire on October 10, 2022, necessitating the sitting of the 7th assembly and the current one at the Speaker’s Lodge.
Responding to the observation of the Honourable Commissioner, the site supervisor Arc Adeniyi Olanrewaju. affirmed the commitment of his principal to the project adding that the job has not been one day put on hold since the flag-off.
He also promised to employ all aesthetic values on the structure to display the expertise of his company
The Architect promised to deliver the job in accordance with the stipulated work plan.
