Captain Timi Iyela to Receive Young Politician of the Year Award

Captain Timi Iyela, a young and vibrant politician, is set to receive the prestigious Young Politician of the Year Award, 2025, by Democracy Newsline Newspaper. Captain Iyela, a former House of Representatives aspirant for Okene/Ogori/Mangogo Federal Constituency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is recognized for his commitment to the development of his people.
According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, the award is a testament to Captain Iyela’s dedication to public service and his potential as a leader.

He said that the award ceremony will take place on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The ceremony will feature a Red Carpet ceremony starting at 5 pm, followed by the main event at 6 pm and a dinner program. The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
The occasion will also mark the launch of a ₦100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television, aimed at promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
