CEASE AND DESIST: RT.HON JAMES FALEKE WARNS ALFRED BELLO OVER DEFAMATORY AND INCITING STATEMENTS
The Media Office of the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, issues a stern and final warning to Hon. Alfred Bello to immediately cease and desist from his ongoing campaign of calumny, defamation, and character assassination against the person of Hon. Faleke.
Over the past few weeks, Hon. Alfred Bello has weaponized various media platforms to spread false, malicious, and inciting narratives. While these baseless outbursts were initially ignored as the mere political antics , his recent escalating tirades have crossed the line of acceptable political engagement, necessitating this decisive response.
In his desperate bid for relevance, Hon. Bello recently went as far as publicly calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to “call Hon. Faleke to order,” falsely alleging that the lawmaker is orchestrating a crisis in Kogi State. In his latest media interaction, he continued to cast unwarranted aspersions, reiterating unsubstantiated fallacies he knows to be entirely fabricated.
For the avoidance of doubt:
It is both baffling and ironic that while Hon. Bello is busy crying wolf, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is busy maintaining a highly cordial and productive relationship with Hon. Faleke.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke remains the “Okun Star,” Kogi’s Jewel, and one of Nigeria’s finest political leaders. His landmark empowerment programs across Okunland and the wider Kogi State speak for themselves.
From extensive free healthcare outreaches and critical road infrastructure, water and electricity supplies, to the construction of traditional palaces and widespread philanthropic interventions among others, Hon. Faleke’s footprints of development have brought immense elevation to the people of Kogi State.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke is a leader in whom the majority of the Okun people and Kogites are well pleased. His focus remains on development, not distraction.
At a time the leadership of the APC is preaching peace, unity and reconciliation within the party, one wonders why Alfred Bello is toeing the opposite direction.
Alfred Bello is well advised to caution himself. His recent interviews reveal a textbook entitlement mentality—one that selfishly seeks to subsume collective progress under personal ambition.
Sadly, it has now become a pastime for some Okun politicians to take delight or relish in unwarranted attacks against respected leaders in the community for a mess of pottage!
While Hon. Bello is at complete liberty to support whoever catches his political fancy, he no longer has the liberty to use Hon. Faleke’s name as a stepping stone or a target for malicious falsehoods.
Enough is enough. The good people of Kogi State know their true leaders. Political entrepreneurs who survive by fanning the embers of discord are hereby warned: it will no longer be business as usual.
Hon. Alfred Bello must cease and desist from his defamatory tirades against Hon. James Abiodun Faleke immediately. Should he choose to continue down this reckless path, by defaming Hon Faleke or denigrating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his ill-informed media engagements, he must be fully prepared to answer for his actions and face appropriate, stringent legal consequences in a court of law.
A word, they say, is enough for the wise!
