Celebrating One Year of Excellence: A Milestone Achievement with San. Umar Anataku Shaibu, Acting Provost College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah
Today marks a momentous occasion as Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah celebrates the first anniversary of San. Umar Anataku Shaibu as the Acting Provost of the esteemed institution.
I want to appreciate Almighty Allah for his mercy and opportunity given to me to be alive to witness today.
My sincere appreciation goes to HE Alh Yahaya Bello, The 4th Executive Governor of Kogi State for finding me worthy for this position on an Acting capacity. I also express my gratitude to Our own Education friendly Gov, Health friendly Gov, security friendly Gov, Salary Alert Conscious and Student friendly Gov, HE Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo, The 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State for his love towards me and the support we at College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah have received from him since I took over the helm of affairs of our dear state.
It might intrest you to know that, over the past one year as Acting Provost, I have demonstrated unparalleled dedication, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to furthering the mission and values of the College. My visionary approach has been instrumental in propelling our College to new heights of excellence in education, research, and community engagement.
My administration in the past one year, has focused on key areas of improvement, including academic excellence, infrastructure enhancement, innovation, staff and students welfare
It is with great pleasure that I, together with the Academic Board, Management,Member of staff of the College and students celebrate my one year anniversary as the Acting Provost of College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah.
Within this short period, as Acting head of the College, significant strides have been made in transforming the college into a world-class institution.
Under my leadership and with the support of my management team, the College has witnessed unprecedented infrastructural development, including the renovation of the college admin block, entrepreneurship development center, and lecture halls. The conference room has also been aggressively improved upon, providing a conducive environment for academic and administrative activities.
Furthermore, I was able to introduced several innovative initiatives, including the establishment of a Health Information Department ICT room, HIM demonstration room, and e-library. These facilities have enhanced the learning experience of students and provided them with access to modern technology and resources.
In addition to these achievements, we as a college were able to secure full accreditation for several courses, including
HND in Environmental Health Technology, HND in Health Information Technology,
Diploma, Dental Surgery Technician.This is a significant milestone, as it is the first time the College has achieved full accreditation for these courses since its establishment in 1976.
Other notable achievements include the extension of water to the college hostel block and clinic, as well as the purchase of computer sets for student training, Conduct of CBT Exam for the first time for probation Exam.
As we celebrate my One year in office on the Acting capacity, I want to sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo for the opportunity he has granted me to serve and contribute my quota towards the development of the College. I equally acknowledge the tireless efforts and unprecedented support given to me by my management team, staff and students towards transforming the college into a center of excellence. My commitment to academic excellence, innovation, welfare of staff as regards sponsorship to workshop, seminars and professional conferences and student welfare is next to none, while we look forward to seeing the college continue to thrive under my leadership.
