Celebrating the “True Servant”, Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma @60

The name ‘BAIWA’ came with multifarious meanings , as some person’s connotations came with “the servant of the people,” “God’s servant” or “God sent ” ,it also mean”Blessing’s”, depending on individuals or sectional interpretations.

But, from the general, personal feelings, connotations and experiences, as well as general perspectives,the impactful activities of Hajia (Chief) Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma, The Ebule- Jonu Atta Igala, The Former National Women Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, the Nigeria’s rulling party, who clocked 60 years on the surface of the earth today, 12th, November, 2025 , she has came , saw, conquered and still thriving.

Not came , saw, conquered and thriving alone, through avoiding people, snubbing people, altercations, shortchanging people ,.detering people, or denying people, but through humanitarian and life touching activities in the last decades .

Baiwa, the God’s sent started her early life as a young civil servant in Lagos at Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN , having garnered many years experiences at the private and personal businesses, rose to open up employment opportunities to many Nigerians and also touching life simultaneously, irrespective of creed , tribe , religion, extraction or section of the country you came from.

At FAAN, the peak of her life career, she used her opportunity to employ thousands of Nigerians, from her extraction alone, she employed over 2000 of her brothers and sisters and also extended same to ordinary Nigerians, that made her a role model with unbeatable and unequalled records, a legacy nobody has surpassed in the history of her kingdom, communities and rarely in Nigeria .

During her stint as the Director of Administration, at FAAN, she granted alot of opportunities for local and foreign trainings to many Nigerians, that promoted the activities and services of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria FAAN to enviable heights.

She also ensured those due for promotions, other benefits among many others were not denied their statutory rights , hence made her popular during her time.

Baiwa, later retired from FAAN as Director , Accident and Emergency Unit, AEU, of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

Aside granting job opportunities to ordinary Nigerians in FAAN, she also used her short stint at Nigeria’s ruling party as National Women Leader, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to employ many Kogites and Nigerians in the federal civil service, the private sector, placements, opened opportunities in other areas like contracts and services, among many others.

Her efforts to secure lively activities for her people and others took her to the then Afribank now Polaris,as she gave many people employment in the private sector and also at the National Space Research Development Agency NASR,DA, a Parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, among many other numerous ones that are on record and not recorded.

The untiring “BAIWA ” floated an outreach and foundation that caters for the vulnerable since her stint at FAAN and asThe National Women Leader, part of which organised empowerment for Nigerians yesterday, November,11, in Abuja, in conjunction and supported by RTA Foundation, HSSI held at Diplomat Parks, Area, 1, Abuja were skill development programs were organised, and included training on Soap Making Fascinator Making and Confectioneries was conducted, with items and starter parks distributed.

For ‘BAIWA ‘, her undying taste for empowerment, charity and human development has remained the strong pillar sustaining her in her life’s endeavor.

The legacies she has built over the years remained an unbroken records in the history of many Nigerians.

Even at that , she remained focused, untiring and unperturbed for continuous rendering of succor to the vulnerable ones ,as that has been part of her life , joy and fulfilment.

As you mark your 10+10+10+10+10+10=60 birthday, the prayers is that the good things has just begin for a woman with a good mind and heart.

My prayers for you now is also long life , prosperity, longevity for your children, wishing you many more years.
