Chief Edime Godwin Amade Inspects City Boy Movement Office, Commends Mark Okpanachi Ogah’s Grassroots Leadership

Lokoja, Kogi State
September 3, 2026

The Kogi State chapter of the City Boy Movement has taken another significant step towards strengthening its grassroots mobilisation and political coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections, following the inspection of its newly acquired office located opposite the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja.

The State Director of the movement, Chief Hon. Mark Okpanachi Oga, received the Senior Technical Advisor to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and member of the elder advisory council of the City Boy movement, Hon. Edime Godwin Amade Phd, during an inspection visit to the new facility.

The inspection provided an opportunity for the leadership of the movement and the Governor’s Senior Technical Advisor to assess the office space ahead of its inauguration and discuss strategies for deepening the group’s operations, coordination and grassroots engagement across the state.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Mark Okpanachi Oga expressed satisfaction with the development, describing the new office as a reflection of the growing structure, acceptance and organisational strength of the City Boy Movement in Kogi State.

He particularly commended Barr. Seyi Tinubu for what he described as his visionary leadership and commitment to creating an enabling environment for young Nigerians and grassroots political structures to thrive.

According to him, the acquisition of the office represents more than a physical facility, stressing that it would serve as a strategic coordination centre for the movement’s activities, meetings, mobilisation efforts and engagement with supporters across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State.

Chief Mark Ogah also expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the support extended to the State Directorate of the movement, particularly the provision of adequate security for its activities.

He noted that the peaceful and secure environment provided by the administration had encouraged the movement to expand its activities and operate with greater confidence.

The State Director further emphasised that the City Boy Movement remained committed to constructive political engagement, grassroots mobilisation, youth participation and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the developmental vision of Governor Ododo in Kogi State.

Responding, Hon. Edime Amade Phd commended Chief Mark Okpanachi Ogah for what he described as his exceptional political capacity, organisational discipline and ability to coordinate the City Boy Movement effectively in Kogi State.

He said the rapid growth and visibility of the movement in the state was a reflection of the leadership qualities of its State Director and his ability to build bridges across political, community and youth structures.

Edime noted that the level of political access and visibility secured by the movement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not something that could be achieved by an unserious or poorly coordinated organisation.

He described Chief Mark Oga as a serious-minded political organiser who understands the importance of grassroots engagement, strategic networking and sustained mobilisation.

According to him, the growing structure of the City Boy Movement presents an important platform that can be leveraged to strengthen support for the President and consolidate the gains of the Ododo administration ahead of 2027.

The Senior Technical Advisor disclosed that the Kogi State Government was willing to synergise with the City Boy Movement in areas of grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement, with the objective of recording what he described as a “bumper harvest” of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the 2027 elections.

He stressed the importance of taking political mobilisation beyond social media and ensuring that structures are firmly rooted in communities, wards and polling units.

Hon. Edime Amade encouraged the leadership and members of the movement to continue expanding their reach, engaging young people and maintaining peaceful relationships with communities and other stakeholders.

He said the new office would provide a central platform for better coordination of the movement’s activities and enhance its capacity to interface with political actors, supporters and community stakeholders.

The newly acquired office, strategically located opposite the Kogi State Government House, is expected to serve as a hub for meetings, strategic planning, membership coordination, grassroots mobilisation and other activities of the City Boy Movement in the state.
