Chief Edward Onoja Praises Hon. Halims’ Achievements, Urges Further Development
Chief Edward David Onoja, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kogi State, has commended Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim, also known as Halims, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, for his remarkable achievements in the Ankpa, Olamaboro federal constituency over the past six years.
Specifically, Chief Onoja congratulated Hon. Halims on successfully facilitating the construction of the Ukoh-Biraidu link mini-bridge in Olamaboro District, describing it as a responsive solution to a long-standing community need.
However, he also urged him to focus on four critical areas that require urgent attention on the completion of abandoned Ankpa-Omala road, stressing that the road is crucial for regional mobility and has been pending for a long time.
He also said the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ankpa is also crucial, added that though it was reported that the project is at an advanced stage, waiting for final legislative and executive action.
The reactivation of stalled electricity transmission project to connect underserved communities and provide them with electricity and also to address the environmental threats of the community concerned on erosion and unregulated mining, which are degrading arable land and endangering local food systems.
As the most senior legislator from Kogi in the Green Chamber and the highest-ranking representative from the geopolitical zone, Chief Onoja expressed expectations that Hon. Halims will lead efforts to address these pressing issues.
He assured him of the community’s moral support in driving meaningful change.
